I am just trying to figure out how you guys just do emerge world's all the time without breaking anything.
Steps to a safe system.
Do allow a script to:
(1) Sync (2) Do pretend updates (3) Fetch updates (4) Email root with pretend updates (5) Log emerge activity
Do NOT allow script to:
(1) Perform updates (2) Sort configuration files (etc-update)
Also, stay on stable trees if you are worried about breaking things.
