Hi Adam, When I did this, I used cp -a (can't remember exactly which switches...), BUT I did not do it from my live system.
I booted from CD and then did all the copying. That way /dev gets copied the way it should. There may be other issues, but I did this ages ago, so I can't remember. Good luck!
