I have a 32MB USB memory stick. hub.c: new USB device 00:04.2-1, assigned address 2 hub.c: USB hub found hub.c: 4 ports detected hub.c: new USB device 00:04.2-2, assigned address 3 input0: USB HID v1.00 Mouse [Logitech USB-PS/2 Mouse] on usb1:3.0 hub.c: new USB device 00:04.2-1.2, assigned address 4 scsi0 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices Vendor: M-Sys Model: DiskOnKey Rev: 2.01 Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Attached scsi removable disk sda at scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 SCSI device sda: 63648 512-byte hdwr sectors (33 MB) sda: Write Protect is on /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0: unknown partition table WARNING: USB Mass Storage data integrity not assured USB Mass Storage device found at 4
Note the line: sda: Write Protect is on. How can I turn it off? There is no physical write protection on the device. When I put it on a Xbox I can copy save games to/from it. I don't know if I should be worried about the unknown partition table since it an Xbox formatted USB memory stick (I'm trying to install Linux on the Xbox, with the MechInstaller from xbox-linux.sf.net). When I put the device on a Xbox I can copy save games to/from it. :pete -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list
