Mirc is pretty fussy about fonts under Wine. Look for a Mirc script that will 
'fix fonts'. One script that I know of that does this is Peace & Protection. 
There is a menu selection where it will fix all your fonts for you based on 
the font in the current window. Thats what I used to use...

...and then I realized that trying to run Mirc under Wine is a waste of time 
and I learned how to use Irssi. :)
