It is. You need to, as root, type 'emerge sync' and grab a quick coffee. This updates the package version descriptions etc etc on your machine. Then 'emerge -uDp world' will show what can be updated, or 'emerge -pv gaim' will show the new version of gaim. -- Tom Wesley
