The demo version won't allow you to save/write the partition table. Try Parted, the OpenSource.

Parted is availiable on many live cds, I'm not sure of the gentoo live cds personally, but slackware-live and knoppix both have it (im sure gentoo's do too, you probably have one, have a look :)
Does anybody have a copy of partition magic though and could enlighten me on a certain part of the EULA. It has recently been told to me that apparently part of the EULA is worded in that the licence is for a single machine, non-transferrable. To the effect that if you purchased a new computer, you would have to buy a new copy of PM for that machine. I dont have a copy around to verify, so I figured I'd ask on here since the topic came up.
