Funny I came across this because I am having the same problem since my old router (an old Alcatel) decided it was time to kick the bucket. Now I have a Thomson (which is made by Alcatel and I believe it is a continuation of their SpeedTouch routers) which keeps on losing ssh connections every x minutes. I haven't really timed it, but it is less than 10 minutes for sure. Another observation is that if I have an ssh connection from a remote box to this one, it will not time out. >From my experience, looks like it is a router related issue that for some reason it drops connections which dont look too alive.
