I am using a dual PPro motherboard with AIC7880
scsi controller and st243451W harddisk. I installed
using basic boot CD. I had no problem with
mkreiserfs and mounting a 13GB partition. After I
compiled new kernel, the computer freezes when I
try to do mkreiserfs or mount the partition (I can boot
using bootcd and do mkreiserfs there). The only
changes I made in kernel config are
1. Processor is PPro
2. kernel support for aic7xxx
3. SMP
The rest is same as default which comes with genkernel.
One of the above is probably creating a problem.
How can I identify the problem.
