I have basic 1.4 Gentoo Cd which has stage 1 tarball. Will I be able to compile my modem LTWin driver after the stage
1? Also, is that ok if I unmount Gentoo CD and put my Cd with modem driver on it? Anyway, what's the right time
for Gentto to compile my driver.
Since I never installed from gentoo bootable CD (I always used chroot environment + 1.stage tarball) can't give you exact answer, but I thing, that:
If you need ltmodem for i-net connection, you need to have LTdriver in kernel from which you booted the system for installation ... so teoretically driver should be on gentoo bootable CD and shall be loaded automatically ... (little chance :-( )
Try "modprobe lt_serial" if it says "Can't locate ..." you have to download, compile and load it manualy to the boot kernel.
So in the rest you need lt_modem driver twice - once for installation and later on for installed kernel, for which you'll need it after stage 3. when kernel is installed.
