Hey everyone-

Sorry if this is a common question, but I also seem to have butchered my
browser so I can't google/forum right now. I'm fearing that if I quite
evolution, it isn't gonna start up again.

The problem is that when I do 'emerge -uD gnome', it comes across
'sys-devel/automake-1.7.5-r2' and the emerge fails with:

configure: error: Autoconf 2.54 or better is required.

So, in /usr/bin, I've got:

autoconf -> ../lib/autoconf/ac-wrapper.pl
autoconf-2.13
autoconf-2.57

I note in the ebuild for automake-1.7.5-r2, it EXPORT's
WANT_AUTOMAKE_2_5=1 and if I edit the ebuild inserting: 'automake
--version', I get the following trace from emerge'ing automake-1.7.5-r2
:

configure: error: Autoconf 2.54 or better is required.
Is it installed? Is it in your PATH? (try running `autoconf
--version')
Is it working? See also config.log for error messages before this
one.

!!! ERROR: sys-devel/automake-1.7.5-r2 failed.

!!! (no error message)

Any thoughts? Any help would be great!

Thanks in advance-
daniel
