First, turn your printer on *before* your computer and while connected to
it. Then boot and follow the kernel messages. I get something like
"usb blabla ... found HP LaserJet 1200" (or something similar to that)
just before INIT starts up. If you do not get any msg. like this during
boot, you maybe mis-configured your kernel's USB settings. I could send
you mine if this is the case.
