That's a very simple solution, so you will probably have already tried this but for the unlikely case that you havent ...
Are you able to load the nvidia module? lsmod should provide you with the list of modules loaded. Try this: lsmod | grep nvidia and see if its there. if not try modprobe and see wether any error messages are spit out by modprobe Am Mittwoch, 15.
