a) Why on earth would you do that? (Unless you're setting up a public mirror, that's a good thing.)
we have about 15 servers in our company, and I'm not interested in downloading the same packages from the internet for each server. If anybody knows a better way of solving this problem, please let me know.

For my LAN, I have 1 computer that has /usr/portage shared via NFS. On all the other computers, I have this NFS share mounted as /usr/portage. I have a cron job that runs every night that does 'emerge sync' and 'emerge -uDf world' on the main computer. This way, they all have access to the same portage tree and the same distfiles. Also, if I want to install a new package on one of the computers, If I download it on any one of the other computers, it saves it to the shared /usr/portage/distfiles, so all the other computers have access to it.
