I downloaded this the other day to install gentoo. Someone on this list said it would work.. I got to the point of chroot, and it says KERNEL to old. Did anyone else get this using tomsrtbt??

Someone here says it works, so I just was wondering if there was something I needed to do or should I try find a different distribution.

I think I said recently that Tom's disk WON'T work, and I can't recall it being discussed more recently than that.

This search <http://tinyurl.com/ry7t> of the archive returns Gustav Schaffter's recommendation of the Slackware floppies and also this <http://www.kerstner.org/tutorials/gentoo_floppyinstall.html> web page, but if you look at the other results you may find others helpful.

I have found it easier in the past to place the target hard-drive in a machine with a CD-Rom than to find a suitable floppy distro, but YMMV. Should you find the right floppy distro the task should be straight-forward.

Stroller.
