You should give Quanta Plus a try. Even though it is not a truly WYSIWYG editor, the developers are planning to make it in the future. They do have a screen where you can view your work. Also, if you install a server on your computer, you can always view your web site there. I highly recommend learning XHTML and CSS. If you do not know HTML, you will find that XHTML is really easy to learn. You can always borrow CSS layouts from various web sites.
