I'm using my old P1 233Mhz as server for the files, and shared the directory /storage/portage/distfiles via NFS. You can change the location of the distfiles in /etc/make.conf. I changed it because there is a big hdd mounted beneath /storage. On the clients I emptied /usr/portage/distfiles and mounted the nfs-share beneath that dir. Only pitfall might be when more than one client tries to download the same tarball. Make sure that does not happen :) Greetings, Dennis
