My Gentoo box can't keep the time (it did when it ran SuSE, so it's not a HW problem), so I've emerged ntp and got the ntp-client and ntpd in the /etc/init.d (both have been added to default runlevel. Dependencies: first ntp-client and then ntpd).
I've configured both (ntp-client in conf.d and ntp in /etc). However ntp-client fails to run during startup (It works fine if I run it manually) and the ntp.conf file gets overwritten on boot up, so no matter what I put into it is no use and I can't find what is overwriting it or from where. Hints anyone? TIA, Chris -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list
