- --update (-U) implies --upgrade (-u) so -uU is the same thing. -D is --deep which checks the entire dependancy tree as opposed to those mentioned. It has been my experience that any "necessary downgrades" that need to occur are only for a select few with problems - and these are pretty rare. If you are having problems and need to "downgrade", then you will know. I have not used anything but an emerge -UD world (weekly) for almost an entire year - without ANY issue about needing to downgrade a package. - -- Matt http://pgp.mit.edu:11371/pks/lookup?op=get&search=0x7D81740A -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.3 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE/qpCSZosHVX2BdAoRApiaAJ9XXcEw9IvUDSopw5+6xY72icqGvwCfaHhj aZXj0pviS628fc3EyniZUKk= =cv/9 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list
