Ah I don't think there is a difference, if you use vnc or if you run some exportetd application in both cases you have to transmit the grafic details, I think if you reduce the detail by setting options in vnc you will even have better performance with vnc, than running an exported app. Correct me guys if I'm wrong.
P.S.
