Are the files different? If the /mnt/gentoo/etc/resolve.conf is not correct you can remove it (rm {file}) before copying the other one over it.
What are your mounts? Are any read only? (insert mount output here)
when mounting the different partitions, i didn�t use the " mount -rw ......" command. i just typed the lines as they were written in the installation guide. i will try now again.
