I'm a relative newbie with gentoo, but use linux for a couple of years
now. Recently I got myself a Asus A7N8X motherboard, which probably was
not the smartest idea.
I have a problem with my card reader, a SanDisk SDDR-75 an USB 1.1 device.
It is detected, and I can mount/unmount the smart media card, but it hangs
when I do it again. A mount attempt of my compact flash card always hangs.
I usually get the error message
usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout
I disabled APIC in the bios and acpi in the kernel. I also disabled a
number of devices in the BIOS, so that there are no more shared
interrupts.
cat /proc/interrupts

I further tried a number of kernels 2.4.22, 2.4.23-preX and 2.6.0-beta.
I'm out of ideas. I can live without the card reader, but I suspect, that
I will have the same problems with my Zaurus and my UPS. Any suggestions
are highly appreciated.
Chris
