Once you've looked at the home pages for the packages it mentions, installing
the ebuild will provide a small summary at the end which will tell you how to
configure it.
I already have iptables emerged on Gentoo box some times ago but without
having it configured. Because I was busily configuring SSH and some
other programs I just left it there untouched. Now where can I find
that small summary.
