Run: /opt/OpenOffice.org1.1.0/spadmin Select: Add a printer... Follow the on-screen directions. You may need to search for your printers ppd file. Gentoo compresses them, so for my printer I had to do the following: zcat \ /usr/share/cups/model/foomatic-ppds/HP/HP-PhotoSmart_P1315-hpijs.ppd.gz \ > /tmp/HP-PhotoSmart_P1315-hpijs.ppd And then press the "Import..." button in the printer selection dialog to import that printer. If your printer is listed in the default list then you can skip that step.
