During kernel config, under "processor type and features" I'm offfered a selection called "generic x86 support". The help/info for that selection is awful vague to me.
Can anyone clarify it's purpose and when should it be ticked off during kernel configuration?
No need unless you are going to use that kernel on several different x86 machines. If only one machine then select processor and leave that one.
