Gentoo doesn't really honor the difference between init 3 & 5.  To remove the
graphical login, merely code DISPLAYMANAGER="" in /etc/rc.conf.  If you
have DISPLAYMANAGER set, gentoo will perform a graphical login regardless of the
int n setting.  If you are unable to get to a console to do this, use the LIVECD
to repair your system.
