Peter,
Actually, this raises another point for me. I started testing
Crossover Office in the last month or so. (Around the 6th of November
from my email logs.) That's Wine based also. I don't use it much, but
I've noticed a couple of other problems since I installed it, like
Audacity taking 3-4 minutes to open. The folks on the CxOffice lists
pointed me at some semi-known problems relating to CUPS causing these
delays, but so far I'm not sure I'm making headway.

I wonder if this could be somehow, in any way, related to just
installing Wine, CxOffice or M$ Office?

Mark
