omg that's got to be a drag! It's taking hours here and I'm hoping it won't fail again. I moved gentoo to a larger partition, lowered the cflags to -O2, and crossed my fingers. A friend told me to expect it to take about 6 hours. I know it worked on it for over 4 hours before it died last night and it's been at it about 4 hours tonight. but thanks for the info. I saw a thread or two on the forums about it too. wish me luck. this and openmotiff are the only things I've had any trouble compiling and I started from stage 1. Gentoo has quickly become my favorite os, outranking my former long time fav mandrake. I've become a little disenchanted with Slack since the 9.x series. I can't get anything to compile on that! But since switching to a vanilla kernel (that's another story), gentoo has been great. anyway, thanks again all! -s -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list
