Hello,

I run tail -f /var/log/messages via ssh to my quake3 server box to see what is goin on.

Today after I finished installing Gentoo, I noticed these errors popping up.

<----snip----->
Dec 6 02:22:44 quake3server hda: dma_intr: error=0x84 { DriveStatusError BadCRC }
Dec 6 02:27:06 quake3server hda: dma_intr: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
Dec 6 02:27:06 quake3server hda: dma_intr: error=0x84 { DriveStatusError BadCRC }
Dec 6 02:09:27 quake3server hda: dma_intr: error=0x84 { DriveStatusError BadCRC }
Dec 6 02:09:27 quake3server hda: dma_intr: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
Dec 6 02:09:27 quake3server hda: dma_intr: error=0x84 { DriveStatusError BadCRC }
<----snip----->

Can anyone tell me what could be causing this and how to get rid of it.. It did not happen when I used SuSE 8.2 and Slackware 9.1 on the same box, with the same hardware. My Gentoo system is the following:

Linux version 2.6.0-test11-gentoo-r1 ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) (gcc version 3.2.3 20030422 (Gentoo Linux 1.4 3.2.3-r3, propolice)) #1 Fri Dec 5 13:42:05 CST 2003

Could it be the kernel? I thought I had all the hard drive / dma stuff compiled into the kernel as I always do.

Also I am using reiserfs

Here is the output of lspci -v:
