Jerry, Thanks for teh response...at least I am a bit more sure that me or my machine isn;t totally crazy as one friend who had gone to 2.6.0 in a breeze was claiming.
I guess I'll just scan the messaage boards for any other ppl with related problems and otherwise sit tight till the final release is made...I;m not in a big hurry 2.4 is still doing me fine.
