Hmmmm - dunno if I'll ever understand this emerge business.  When I ran 
the above, all sorts of stuff showed up as "N" that I don't need or 
want.  E.g, it wants to emerge gentoo-sources-2.4.20-r9 and 
gs-sources-2.4.23_pre8-r1.  I use gentoo-sources-2.4.22-r1.  Why are 
those other kernels showing?  Why does it want to emerge foomatic?  I 
use turboprint.
