I use xinetd to run distcc, so in my server I do /bin/runhome. args is 
/usr/bin/distccd --inetd..

you could do that when you run the daemon. That way, it keeps the process on 
the home node where it belongs and openmosix doesn't get in the way.. You 
won't have to worry about turning off openmosix all the time.

Its what I do.
