Did i mention i need to edit a 300MB mp3 ? Decoding it into a .wav would take

I'm searching for a similar tool. Something that is able to display the
waveform and allowing to hear and cut a file graphically. Should be no
problem to specify fine cutting positions, because MP3 chunks are only
a few 1/100 seconds long.
Other effects aren't possible, like fading etc., because this would
require modifications to the uncompressed data, that means it would
require unpacking and re-packing the file. The only possible thing
you could do with an MP3 file is cutting.
The trouble with your 300 MB file is that the Wave file would exceed
the 2 GB limit, so you better cut the MP3 file into 2 or 3 pieces,
then edit, then merge together. But as already said, i couldn't find
a graphical cutting tool for MP3 files. I guess such a tool doesn't
exist so far..
