It's certainly Buyer Beware. I would like to point out at least one exception (which probably proves the rule), which was the openoffice-ximian ebuild; that got developed and tested a bit at BMG; and formed the substantive base for what is now in Portage. So it's not *all* bad, but I can appreciate Spider's comment about idiots who bug Gentoo developers about problems they're having with externally sourced ebuilds.
