All I've seen so far is about recompiling xfree (which is rather long, at
least on my 333MHz machine ;-). I believe that glx is compiled with xfree,
but the module needs to be loaded. Add
Load "glx" # OpenGL X protocol interface
to the section Module in the file /etc/X11/XF86Config and that should work
(after restarting X of course).
