Did this last week, you just need command:
cp -rfp cp (copy) -r (recursive means all the way down in the directorys) -p (preserve date file permissions etc.) To make sure no interference is done while running this command I booted with a gentoo install cd mounted the old and the new partitions and then copied the files, after waqrds chroot into the new partition edit /etc/fstab and change the partitions edit grub or lilo conf file run lilo or grub and bingo that's it. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gezim Hoxha" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "gentoo user" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Thursday, January 08, 2004 1:55 AM Subject: [gentoo-user] switching harddrives > Hi all, > > I bought a new hard drive (80GB) and right now I'm > using a 40GB one.
