I've given up on the ambicom(Thankls for the advice on the ambicom Ernie) and bought a D-Link DBT-120 I've gotten the following confirmation from the kernel that the device has been located: Jan 10 23:09:14 squee kernel: bluetooth.c: USB Bluetooth support registered Jan 10 23:09:14 squee kernel: usb.c: registered new driver bluetty Jan 10 23:09:14 squee kernel: bluetooth.c: USB Bluetooth converter detected Jan 10 23:09:14 squee kernel: bluetooth.c: Bluetooth converter now attached to ttyUB0 (or usb/ttub/0 for devfs) Jan 10 23:09:14 squee kernel: bluetooth.c: USB Bluetooth tty driver v0.13 Jan 10 23:09:14 squee kernel: BlueZ Core ver 2.2 Copyright (C) 2000,2001 Qualcomm Inc Jan 10 23:09:14 squee kernel: Written 2000,2001 by Maxim Krasnyansky <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Jan 10 23:09:14 squee kernel: BlueZ HCI USB driver ver 2.1 Copyright (C) 2000,2001 Qualcomm Inc Jan 10 23:09:14 squee kernel: Written 2000,2001 by Maxim Krasnyansky <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Jan 10 23:09:14 squee kernel: usb.c: registered new driver hci_usb
When I try to do bring it up with the bluez config util I get the following: [EMAIL PROTECTED] chris # /usr/sbin/hciconfig hci0 up Can't get device info: No such device I've also noticed the following in dmesg: bluetooth.c: usb_bluetooth_probe - improper number of endpoints. Bluetooth driver not bound Not sure how bad this is as I haven't found an explanation of it. My overall goal here is to get the D-link to talk to my sony-ericsson 616 I'm hoping that there is a way to have a window popup when incoming calls/text messages come in to the phone(Seen this done on Macs). Has anyone seen any software that enables this functionality? Also wouldn't mind transferring off all these damn pics... Any help would be appreciated! Thanks Chris -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list
