No, the line you pasted refers to your PCI controller. We are interested in your IDE controller.
Please post the entire "lspci" output.


Also, you could post the dmesg output from under the 2.4.20 kernel where DMA worked, plus the dmesg output on a kernel where DMA does not work.

More details, are you running these disks straight off the motherboard? Or are you using a PCI IDE card?
Are you using 80-conductor or 40-conductor IDE cables?
