I guess this is cleaned up now. The power of Gentoo helped. 'etcat -b /usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.2.0/engines/libxfce.so' identified it was part of x11-themes/gtk-engines-xfce, so I did an emerge -C and no longer get the warning messages.
