If I understood the kernel config, I would. Instead I just used "genkernel" in the earlier steps. (Yes, I can admit the limits of my knowledge. Too damn much of that is still black magic as far as I can tell.) Can you give me some idea of what I should be looking at? Once things are narrowed down, the task won't be so bad...
