as you can see from my other mail I have some problems with my Linux install.
Unfortunately I don't have a recent backup of my data files (which are on a seprerate volume group that seems to be fine).
I wanted to start the backup now I got my dvd-writer but now the trouble started.
So here is my question: I want to backup the files by writing to dvd (or cd if unavoidable) but how can I do that.
Knoppix has problems with my data volume group.
Gentoo CD mounts it fine but has no dvd/vd writing support
After chroot-ing into my install I got the tools but no device for my dvd writer
So, any hints how to do it? Perhaps some other kind of rescue CD (saw one mentioned some time ago on this list, but did not try this one yet)?
