Andrew,
   Thanks for the response. I filed a bug on Bugzilla last evening and
they moved it to the base-system group this morning saying pretty much
the same thing you did.

   I'm on 2.4.22-r2, gentoo-sources. What would I emerge to get a Gentoo
version of 2.4.24?
