Following is my configuration: Intel D865PERL Motherboard P4 2.8 Ghz Hyperthreading 2 512MB 400Mhz Dual Channel RAM 2 SATA Barracuda Drives 80 GB each
I have the drives plugged in to the onboard SATA controller. Following is my issue: I boot up the live cd and provide one of the following options: smp-acpi, smp Command prompt comes up. the drives appear as /dev/hde and /dev/hdg (kinda weird, but...okay) I run fdisk and configure all of my partitions. When I attempt to write the partitions to the disk I get several error messages saying the drive is not ready. Any insight? Anybody successfully run a similar configuration?
