Hi,
   I set up the A7N8X-Deluxe a few weeks before Thanksgiving pretty much
the same way, except on 2.4.23. I used the 3com NIC and set up a low-end
NVidia graphics adapter. It does boot off of Silicon Image SATA
controller/drive just fine and has been running well now for a couple of
months.
