I had a similar problem once. From what I remember, this is a common
problem with PS/2 mice (USB mice are apparently immune). It particularly
occurs when you move or click the mouse while switching the KVM, but
will sometimes happen for no obvious reason (making it really hard to
pinpoint the problem if you're new to KVM switches). Some switches are
better than others, but I never found one which was known to be immune
to the problem. Much like RAM and old SCSI equipment, some combinations
will work glitch-free, some will give you no end of headaches. I finally
just settled for having a metric butt-ton of monitors and keyboards
around. Looks cooler, anyway.
