I emerged vmware-workstation and ran vmware-config.pl and here is the
result:

...

Starting VMware services:
   Virtual machine monitor failed

The configuration of VMware Workstation 4.0.5 build-6030 for Linux for this
running kernel completed successfully.

You can now run VMware Workstation by invoking the following command:
"/opt/vmware/bin/vmware".

Enjoy,

Seems that there is a service "Virtual machine monitor" failed although it
told me the configuration was successful. I tried to run vmware and a
dialog popped up saying:

VMware Workstation is installed, but it has not been (correctly)
configured for your running kernel. To (re-)configure it, your system
administrator must find and run "vmware-config.pl". For more information,
please read file "INSTALL" in the VMware Workstation documentation
directory.

I tried to run vmware-config.pl again and got an error:

Making sure VMware Workstation's services are stopped.

/etc/vmware/init.d/vmware: line 940: [: -: integer expression expected
Stopping VMware services:
   Virtual machine monitor failed
Unable to stop VMware Workstation's services.

Execution aborted.

Any hints? Vmware version is 4.0.5.6030 and kernel version is 2.6.0. Any
suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Regards.
