I tried emerging Squidguard today, and it failed immediately on the first .c
file, complaining about mismatched parameters in sgDbInit.

With a bit of research, I quickly discovered three things:

1. Squidguard seems *very* outdated. Seems to have been last updated
sometime in 2002, and talks about requiring the "latest" version of Berkely
DB, 2.x

2. I have versions 1.85, 3.2.9, 4.0.14, and 4.1.25 of BerkelyDB on my system
(OT: It seems lame that I need four versions of db on my system to support
the latest ebuilds...)

3. According to qpkg, there isn't a sys-libs/db-2.x version of BerkelyDB
available

I'm not sure what to do. First, does anyone even use Squidguard? Is it so
very out of date because there's something better that I'm missing? And,
more importantly, how do you get it to work given the version of db is wants
isn't available in an ebuild? Have others gotten it to work with a higher
version, and if so, how?

Thanks,
Eric
