Dear All,
I've been trying to get shorewall running. I have compiled iptables as a module. But I cannot see it as a module when I give an lsmod. So I gave a modprobe ip_tables, and this is the error I get.
FATAL: Error inserting ip_tables (/lib/modules/2.6.1-gentoo-r1/kernel/net/ipv4/netfilter/ip_tables.ko): Device or resource busy
What does the error mean?. Does it mean that ip_tables has not been compiled as a module, and that it has been directly compiled into the kernel? If that is so, why do I get the following error, when I try to start shorewall , which produces the above error and additionally,
iptables v1.2.9: can't initialize iptables table `filter': iptables who? (do you need to insmod?)
Perhaps iptables or your kernel needs to be upgraded.
What is the problem here?
Regards,
George Abraham
