Hmm...I found the error, the kernel did not have xfs support, actually i
emerged xfs-sources but did not change the /usr/src/linux link to the
xfs-sources.
So now it boots up ok.

A few more problems,
1.how do I upgrade to the latest 2.6 kernel, what is the emerge command?
2. I am installing the GRP packages, emerge --usepkg kde, now when i want
to update to the latest kde what command should I execute?
