[gentoo-user] artsd won't go away! (kde 3.2)

Occasionally I kill the artsd process when running certain things (I 
know, I can use artsdsp, but anyway ;), and since upgrading to kde 3.2 
I've had a problem with it restarting itself. I have "Enable the sound 
system" unchecked in Control Center, but artsd keeps rearing it's ugly 
head. I *think* it's being launched when "artsplay" is called from 
another process.

Anyone know how I can stop this from happening? (Note that I usually 
like arts running, but also want the ability to stop it, like I could 
before)
I can't be 100% certain that this started occurring as a result of 
upgrading kde, but the timeline fits. (I have a feeling I'm missing 
something glaringly obvious here lol)
