I'm unclear whether I should do tune2fs-O ^dir_index /dev/hda7 or... tune2fs-O ^dir_index / or... tune2fs-O ^dir_index/var /tmp/portage/perl-5.8.0-r12/image/usr/share/man/man3 !!!
